Introducing #BluelineMagazine in #Print

Printers have a unique passion for realizing bold ideas. They love putting ink on paper, but also realize the importance of forging a strong partnership with their creative clientele. On the other hand, creatives are marvelously individualistic, but with one critical commonality: the need to keep the well of inspiration filled, primed and pumped.

We are excited to announce Blueline Magazine, a quarterly publication designed to bring printers and creatives together. We’re a resource for innovative ideas, perspectives, and possibilities. Each issue will follow a theme relevant to today’s creative industry and provide a range of insights that shed light on topics you care about. Think of Blueline as a supplement to our blog and website, which is an excellent resource for designers, printers and print buyers. The magazine and website will work in concert, leveraging modern technology like augmented reality to give you a more holistic experience. As always, you are a vital part of this process. We encourage you to visit our website, join the conversation, submit your work and share your feedback and insights on stories you would like to hear.

The theme for this inaugural issue is “collaboration.” After all, Blueline is more than a topical industry blog or an inspiring gallery of brilliant printed projects. Blueline is a conversation. And now, with the introduction of Blueline Magazine in print, the dialogue has an exciting new forum.

In our feature article on building and maintaining an in-house brand, Tim Hale of Fossil talks about the interdependence of print and other media. He calls it a “content ecosystem.” In an ecosystem, things work together. You get the idea “collaboration.”

Throughout this issue, you’ll find examples of what can happen when organizations team up with designers, writers, photographers, illustrators, and printers to connect with the people who matter to them. You’ll get tips, hints, answers, and ideas. Plus, when you enjoy Blueline in conjunction with the Layar app, you’ll get an augmented experience and bonus video content.

Informative, interesting content shared on multiple platforms. Imagine that.

Collaboration isn’t a new idea. And neither is a printed trade publication. But even as the landscape of branding, design and print continues to change, collaboration is as relevant and important as ever.

As always, you are a vital part of this process. We encourage you to visit our website, join the conversation, submit your work and share your feedback and insights on stories you would like to hear.
