Playful and refined: those are two words that best describe the Canada’s National Ballet School’s Steamboat Gala Thank You Card. The design, techniques, and grommeted thank you wheel work together to add an elegant level of interactivity that the recipient can’t help but notice. And when it comes to high-end finishing, this piece pulls out all the stops.

Canada’s National Ballet School's annual fundraising Gala celebrates the School’s achievements and raises funds to support their elite ballet training program and broad range of community programs. With this year's Steampunk event theme, our goal was to give attendees a unique, immersive experience that extended to the print materials and event decor. It was a great opportunity to experiment with some fun elements and influences: Victorian-era artwork, Steampunk fashion, mechanical gadgets, and sci-fi/fantasy literature.  

 

We were lucky to be able to work closely with Somerset Graphics Co. Ltd., who helped us realize the rich, textured aesthetic we were going for. They spoiled us with high-end finishes such as embossing, foil stamping, and die cuts, all printed on Cougar Natural. They have without a doubt brought our event to a higher standard since we started working with them in 2014.
